Tom Holden Memorial Scholarship Contest Winners


The 2014 WKBN 27 Caring for Our Community campaign Tom Holden Memorial Scholarship contest was an overwhelming success!

More than 150 students from all across our Valley entered PSA scripts written about local non profit organizations.  A team of judges from WKBN and our Caring for Our Community sponsor partners (Huntington Bank, Window World and Dunkin’ Donuts) judged the entries and the following individuals were selected as our top winners:Click HERE for photos of the winner’s luncheon

$1,500 Scholarship Winner:  Jasmine Graham – Trumbull Career and Technical Center
PSA – Help Hotline

1st Runner-up: Stephanie Baringer – Newton Falls High School
PSA – Mill Creek MetroParks

2nd Runner-up: Tia Jones – LaBrae High School
PSA – Make-A-Wish

3rd Runner-up: Kelly Sweeney – Struthers High School
PSA: Goodwill Industries

4th Runner-up: Thomas Sunseri – Trumbull Career and Technical Center
PSA: The Alzheimer’s Association

5th Runner-up: Madeline Grimes – Mathews High School
PSA: Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County
