A new type of conference took place in Youngstown on Friday that focused on technology, entertainment and design.
The innovative forum called TEDx brought together 18 speakers to the Williamson College of Business on the campus of Youngstown State University.
Approximately 100 people attended the event, which is meant to spark innovation.
“It’s a global phenomenon that started in the early 80s to put great thinkers and doers on a stage to spread their ideas and to motivate actions,” said Lorilyn Shandor, TEDx, Youngstown curator.
Shandor hopes to expand the event to more speakers and more attendees. She said by hearing the stories of others who have inspired change, others become motivated to do the same thing.
