Man indicted in cold murder case

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Trumbull County grand jury has indicted a man in a 2012 cold murder case.

Lamont Salter, 25, who is currently serving a prison sentence for robbery at the Grafton Correctional Institution, was charged with aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and gun specifications in the 2012 shooting death of DeShawn Scott.

Prosecutors said new forensic evidence led them to charge  Salter with the crime.

Scott was shot at a Charles Street home in July 2012. Witnesses living nearby heard a number of shots fired. At least 11 bullet holes were found in the front door of the house.
