Child shot on East Judson

Shooting investigation

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — An update now on a story we first brought you at 6 p.m..

A child that was reportedly shot on the south side of Youngstown– was actually shot with a BB or pellet gun.

Police tell us the shot barely broke the skin.

The 10 year old victim was taken to Akron children, but those injuries are not life threatening.

No word yet on what kind of charges the person who fired the BB gun could face.

Police say you are not allowed to discharge any type of weapon inside the city limits– and doing so is a misdemeanor.

They also say they have identified the people they were looking for earlier in the day.

The case has been handed over to juvenile and family services.
