GM Lordstown adds additional shifts

LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Our recent harsh weather is forcing changes at GM Lordstown.

Workers are on the job today, getting overtime to make the Chevy Cruze.

They will also report for another Saturday shift on Feb. 8.

Glen Johnson,  president of United Auto Workers Local 1112, says the extra shifts are needed to make up time lost when the plant was shutdown earlier this month.

Four shifts were canceled when bad weather delayed shipments of necessary parts.

Those shutdowns led to loss of production.

More Saturday shifts may be added as necessary based on demand.
