Rescue Mission responds to cold

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) –The Rescue Mission in Youngstown is also doing what it can to help out in this cold crisis.

Last night, the mission housed about 139 women, children and men.

Normal capacity for the shelter is 96.

Because of the overload of people seeking shelter, they are running out of much-needed items.

Donations are desperately needed, especially pillows, fitted sheets, blankets and winter coats for adults and children.

New is preferred but clean, used donations will be accepted.

Officials stress no matter how crowded they get, no one will be turned away.
