Chair aims to rally Democratic vote

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Trumbull County Democrats are working on a voter registration movement ahead of the 2014 elections.

Trumbull County Democratic Party Chair Dan Polivka has formed a voter registration task force. The group will be dedicated to maximizing voter turnout.

The task force will draft and implement voter registration programs, and then focus its attention to make sure every registered voter casts a ballot.

“It’s not enough to simply register someone,” Polivka said. “The key to victory, the key to turning this state around lies in turning potential voters into powerful agents for change. I’m confident the members of the task force will play a critical role in achieving that goal.”

Along with generating votes for the Democratic Party’s statewide slate, Polivka said the registration and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) effort will benefit the Trumbull County Party’s endorsed candidates.

The group will be co-chaired by Cosmo Signoriello and Eddie Colbert and also includes State Representative Sean O’Brien, Vince Flask, and Cindy Michael.
