Bazetta fire causes $10,000 damage

Ivy Hill fire

BAZETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) — A fire Monday afternoon caused $10,000 damage to a unit at an apartment complex.

The fire broke out at a five-plex in the Ivy Hills development off Elm Road. The Bazetta Fire Department said construction workers were doing some pipe work in one of the unit’s bathrooms as part of a remodeling project.

The workers were using a torch and accidentally caught the paper backing to insulation on fire, and the flames quickly spread. Two other units had minor damage.

There were no injuries.
