Fitch suffers 1st loss at hands of Boardman

The Boardman girls upended Fitch on Monday night, 52-49.  It was Fitch’s first loss of the season.

The Spartans led 24-17 at halftime, and 33-28 at the end of the 3rd quarter.  Boardman increased it’s lead to as many as 11 points, but Fitch was able to cut the lead to two points with less than a minute to go on a three-pointer by Megan Sefcik.  Boardman hit it’s free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Jenna Kuczek the way for Boardmand with 16 points.  Megan Volosin was right there as well, netting 15 in the victory.

The Falcons were led by Sarah Melfe with 12 points.  Megan Sefcik and Cassie Custer each scored 10 points.

Boardman improves to 7-11 on the year, while Fitch drops to 15-1.
