YSU engineering school ranks high

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown State University’s engineering school has made a prominent list.

U.S. News & World Report ranked it in the top 50 of engineering schools without a doctoral degree. YSU’s engineering program came in at number 43 out of 203 schools.

The school’s dean said the program is growing to better meet students needs. It now offers co-ops and internships as a part of the majors.

“So we have made great steps forward in terms of growing the program and growing the reputation. This year top 50. Next year, we’re going for top 25,” said YSU STEM College Dean Dr. Martin Abraham.

Last year, the engineering program made the top 100.
