AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Residents in the Austintown Local School District will have the chance in May to vote on whether to help fund construction of a new high school.

The Board of Education on Wednesday unanimously approved placing the 37-year, 4.1-mill issue on the primary ballot.

The money would help the district replace Fitch High School as well as renovate other buildings.

If successful at the ballot box, the state would pay for 47 percent of the $64 million project.
