Shives reaches 1,000 points

Struthers senior McKenna Shives scored her 1,000th point on Saturday against Canfield.

Shives was five points away entering the game.  She opened the scoring with a three-pointer, then later in the 1st quarter, intercepted a pass and layed it in on the other end, reaching 1,000 career points.  She finished with 11 points in the game.

Struthers was victorious, 51-36.  Brittaney Zupko led the scoring for the Wildcats with 19 points.  Halle Smrek added nine points in the victory.

The Cardinals were led in scoring by Erin Risner with 15 points.  Rachel Tinkey netted 11 points.
