Fitch holds off West Branch

Austintown Fitch held off West Branch 53-47 in a battle of two of the best high school girls’ basketball teams in the area Monday night.

Megan Sefcik led the way with 15 points in the win.  Sarah Melfe added 11 in the win, while Maura Bianco finished with 8.

Melinda Trimmer led West Branch with a game-high 24 points.  She scored her 1,000th career point in the second quarter.  Pavin Heath added 8 in the loss for the Warriors.

Fitch improves to 17-1 on the season, while West Branch drops to 17-4.
