Couple in court on child sex charges

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown couple appeared in Mahoning County Court on Tuesday facing rape and child endangering charges.

Michael Lewis, 50, was charged with the rape of a female relative between the age of 9 and 12 years old. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is being held without bond pending a Feb. 7 pretrial.

Alandra Lewis, 35, was charged with felony child endangering surrounding the rape. She pleaded not guilty. Bond was set at $30,000, and she was ordered to not have any contact with the victim who is n the care of family members.

The couple was arrested on Mona Lane, near Chaney High School last week after they were secretly indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury.

Lewis is accused of having sexual conduct with the girl and Alandra Lewis is charged for failing to report the crime.
