Man injured in Southington crash

SOUTHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – A man suffered minor injuries Tuesday after his car went off the road into a swamp in Southington Township.

According to police, the driver was traveling north on Painesville Warren Road between Route 305 and Leiby Osborne Road about 12 p.m. when he lost control, hit a ditch, and flipped over into a swamp.

Police said the driver had looked down to spit tobacco into a can when he lost control of the vehicle.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
