WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Mineral Ridge woman was sentenced Tuesday for her role in a burglary that ended in the fatal shooting of her husband.
Nicole R. Allen, 35, of Mineral Ridge, pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated burglary in connection to the July 12 burglary that resulted in the shooting death of 36-year-old Terry Allen.
Nicole Allen was sentenced to four years in prison.
Terry Allen was shot and killed by Roy Hahn, of 1539 Niles Cortland Road, during an attempted break-in. Hahn was not charged in the shooting. Prosecutors said he was within his rights to fatally shoot Allen, because he and four others conspired to break into his home and steal copper.
Michael Burns, 33, Scott Crislip, 18, and Terry Allen were attempting to break into Hahn’s house when Hahn shot Burns through the door.
Nicole Allen was charged in the crime since she was driving the vehicle that brought the men to the house.
Burns and Crislip were convicted on manslaughter charges because the shooting happened while a crime was being committed.
Burns is serving an 11-year prison sentence. Crislip was sentenced to six years.
Mindy Sierra, 33, of Niles, who was in the vehicle with Allen, was sentenced to two years in prison.
