Snow provides winter blast of fun

Packard Park sledding

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Mother Nature may be throwing lemons our way, but some have learned to turn all that white stuff into lemonade.

Children of all ages hit the sledding hills at Packard Park in Warren on Wednesday.  With more than 6 inches of snow, the hills were just right for the long ride down.

Being out in the cold and snow is always better than in a classroom, and many Valley children were taking advantage of the extra time outside.

“It’s just fun. I like having fun with my family and friends, and it is better than being at school,” said Corine Eastham.

And on another high note, the Lily Pond at Mill Creek MetroParks has re-opened for ice skating. The pond was open to skaters briefly last week until the top layer of ice became too slushy. Now, with the extra blast of cold air, the pond is ready once again for skaters.
