Cab driver robbed in Youngstown


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown police are searching for a man who held up a taxi driver Thursday morning.

The independent cabby told officers he picked up a fare on Wesley Avenue just after 5 a.m., and the man told him to drive to Circle K and Jordan’s Market on Market Street. The man then told the driver to take him back to Wesley Avenue, where he pulled a gun and took the driver’s money and cell phone.

The suspect took off on foot with the stolen items.

The cab driver went back to Circle K and called police.

The driver was not injured in the robbery.
