Dead horse prompts investigation

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Humane agents are investigating a case into possible animal abuse at a Goshen Township residence.

Mahoning County Humane Agent Chris Flak said Goshen Township Police have opened an investigation after being alerted this week about a dead horse on a property in Beloit, off of Smith Goshen Road.

Flak said the dead horse was found on the property and that it had been there for some time, but how long and how the horse died is still undetermined.

A dead puppy was also found on the property. An autopsy will be performed on the dog to determine a cause of death.

Several people are being questioned as part of the Goshen Township Police Department’s investigation. Humane Agents are also assisting and working with the police department.
