Mom invents tablet tray for highchair

POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) — It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention.

For Stephanie Vlosich, that could not be more true. The mother of three sons said her wheels are constantly turning for new ideas and products that she would like to see on store shelves.

In July 2012, while her husband was outside cutting grass, she was inside giving her baby a snack before they went out to play. While in the highchair, she was showing him pictures on her iPad.

Vlosich said he was trying to take the iPad from her, but she was worried he would toss it on the ground like he had done before. She said that is when she wished the iPad could be glued to the tray.

She came up with the idea to have a tray designed to protect the iPad and other electronic tablets from spills and sticky fingers. The tray provides protection for the electronic device while allowing the baby to play with it safely.

Vlosich has received a provisional patent for the product.
