Pavlik to plea in theft case

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) — One of the two court cases facing former boxer Kelly Pavlik could be resolved at the end of this month.

Pavlik’s attorney confirmed Thursday he’s expected to enter a guilty plea to a misdemeanor theft charge at his next hearing Feb. 28 in Canfield Municipal Court. The case involves claims the one-time champ refused to pay for a taxi ride home in September.

His attorney said he had planned to resolve the case last week during a scheduled hearing, but suffered what was said to have been a seizure and had to be taken to the hospital.
