LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) – A Lisbon man has died from injuries he sustained in a head-on collision with a semi-truck.

Joseph A. Hicks, 48, died Wednesday from injuries he sustained from the Jan. 22 accident.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Hicks was driving west on Route 30 about 6:55 p.m. when his Chrysler 300 traveled left of center and hit an eastbound Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Oscar Vera Sandoval, 34, of El Paso, Texas.

Hicks was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is suspected.

Sandoval was not seriously injured.

This is the seventh death resulting from five fatal crashes in Columbiana County during the month of January.
