Boy Scouts hold Pinewood Derby

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Area boy scouts headed indoors this weekend for their annual pine wood derby.

50 cars made their way down the yellow track Saturday morning.

The boys have been working on the cars since Christmas. They got to let their creative juice flow, designing, shaping and painting the cars.

“The parents get to work with them so it gives bonding time with the parents, and a lot of the times the parents are more into it than the kids. So it’s fun for the whole family,” said Pack 184 Club Master Rick Larson.

Race participants took home a trophy for participating in the annual event.
