Video store aids dog rescue

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A local video store opened its doors Saturday to help out a dog rescue.

From noon to 4 p.m., Family Video in Austintown hosted a Valentine “Treat” Sale for Legacy Dog Rescue.

As one of the organizers explained proceeds from the “treats,” which were for humans and canines alike, help pay for dog food, spaying and neutering, and fostering costs.

“We have fabulous supporters, who, any time we need anything they come in droves to donate. A lot of great men and women come out and cook anything we need anytime we need it,” said Paula Cipriano of Legacy Dog Rescue.

Cipriano said the agency, which does not have its own facility, is fostering about 43 dogs at various volunteers’ homes.

Legacy has been around for about three years.
