Making a joyful noise

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A very special church service Sunday evening brought together the voices and instruments that lead worship services all around the Valley.

Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman hosted performers from churches in Youngstown, Warren and Campbell. There was even a performance from the Spanish music ministry at St. Rosa de Lima Church.

Organizers say it’s a celebration of all the different kinds of worship throughout the Mahoning Valley.

“I don’t think when we’re just with our own congregation that we realize that people can worship differently than we can. That people use different styles of music,” said Rebecca Richie, pastor of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. “People have different languages, but they are all worshipping God.”

The annual service was hosted by the Mahoning Valley Association of Churches.
