Travel advisory issued for turnpike

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WKBN) – The latest round of snowfall on Sunday has prompted a travel advisory for the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for motorists traveling the turnpike through Sunday.

Travelers are urged to drive more slowly, stay alert for changing travel conditions and areas of snow, and be aware of emergency crews working on the roadway.

The turnpike cautions drivers to allow a lot of space when driving near plow trucks.

Also, drivers are reminded to not try to pass a truck while it is plowing or spreading winter materials.

Motorists needing assistance should call *11 from their cell phones.

Snowfall is expected to continue throughout the day on Sunday and could be heavy at times. Two to four inches of snow is expected by Sunday night. High temperatures on Sunday will be in the low to mid 20s.
