White Mass honors healers

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown celebrated those working in the medical and healthcare professions.

The 18th Annual White Mass was held at St. Columba Cathedral Sunday morning.  Bishop Murry presided over the service.

Each year, the diocese welcome doctors, nurses, dentists and anyone working in professions related to health care to the White Mass to celebrate the church’s ministry of healing.

“The church celebrates Our Lady of Lourdes, which is where a very important miracle occurred in France,” said Brian Corbin, event planner for the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. “It’s representative of Jesus as healers in the celebration.”

Attendees at the White Mass came from parishes throughout all six counties of the diocese.
