Last Meeting: Sharon shot 41% from the field; however, were only able to grab 19 rebounds and turned the ball over 15 times in their January 14 loss to Farrell (76-63). Malik Miller led the Steelers with 21 points. Ike Jones contributed with 18 points (9-12 FG) and 8 boards. Sharon’s senior Mark Henry made 10 of 11 from the free throw line as he finished with a game-high 23 points. Carnell Hawkins put together an impressive stat line of 7 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists.

Since beginning the season with a 16-1 mark, Farrell has dropped two of their last three. The Steelers are 68-24 against their rivals at McCluskey Gymnasium.

Prior to their January 14 game against Farrell, the Tigers had a 7-3 record. Unfortunately for Sharon, they’ve fallen in nine of their last eleven contests.

With Oil City’s loss last Tuesday to Farrell (69-54), there is a tie atop the Region 5 Standings between the Oilers and the Steelers at 11-3. Oil City plays Meadville on Friday and Franklin on Saturday. The Steelers have their showdown with Sharon on Friday and a makeup date with George Junior Republic on Monday at 6 PM. Farrell is seeking their fifth championship in the past eight years.
