YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A dozen couples have a special anniversary date after saying their “I do’s” on Valentine’s Day.

For the second year in a row, Trinity United Methodist Church in downtown Youngstown hosted walk-in weddings on Friday at their Chapel of the Friendly Bells.

The walk-in wedding is a chance for couples to have a church wedding without having to spend a lot of money. The weddings cost $50 and the money will be split between the food ministries at Trinity UMC and Canfield United Methodist Church.

One of the couples that got married Friday has been dating for 20 years.

“We wanted something small with our children, a religious ceremony,” said Louis and Elizabeth McQuistion. “We’ve been waiting a long time to do this, so it’s very very good.”

Another couple renewed their vows.

“It was a couple that was married on Valentine’s Day 10 years ago at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, so we were able to recreate that for them today as part of their vow renewal,” said  Rev. Susan Brown and Rev. Jerry Krueger, who officiated at the ceremonies.

Pastor Brown and Pastor Krueger are actually husband and wife. Pastor Brown is at Canfield United Methodist Church.
