Columbiana holds off Leetonia

Columbiana jumped out to a 21-10 lead over Leetonia after the first eight minutes of their contest tonight. The Bears came back by outscoring the Clippers by 7-points in the second (19-12) to close their advantage to only four points at halftime (33-29). However, Columbiana held on to post the victory, 59-53.

Devin Rice led the Clippers with 14 as Dalton Miller had 13 and Gannon Hartley finished with 10. Columbiana did not successfully make a free throw on four attempts throughout the entire game.

Leetonia’s Josh Faulkner led all scorers with a game-high 17 points as he connected on 3 three-point baskets. Davis Evans and James Shea tallied 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Columbiana (8-12, 6-8) will play at Western Reserve on Tuesday.

The Bears (5-13, 4-9) will tangle with Mineral Ridge next Friday.
