Reese responds to Sciortino’s apology

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Republican Mahoning County auditor candidate Bill Reese on Friday acknowledged Mahoning County Auditor Mike Sciortino’s Thursday apology for a May traffic stop.

On Friday, Reese was pushing for voters to elect him for Mahoning County Auditor during a press conference at the MVR in Youngstown. He was a Canfield trustee for many years and has since been retired for the past four years.

Reese responded to what he believes is the best choice for voters and said Sciortino’s apology was a direct result of him filing petitions to run for auditor.

“This Valley needs a choice. And we have a choice. We can elect Mike Sciortino and have the same old as we always had. Or we can elect Bill Reese and restore trust and integrity to the auditor’s office,” Reese said.

Both Reese and Sciortino are running unopposed in the May primary.
