Strikes rolled for charity

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Workers from major Valley manufacturers faced off Saturday in Austintown.

Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley held its 21st annual Bowl-a-thon at Wedgewood Lanes.

Competing at the fundraiser were employees from General Motors-Lordstown, VEC, and Huntington Bank.

“The Junior Achievement provides programs to area schools at no cost,” said Michele Merkel, Junior Achievement Mahoning Valley. “Our programs target financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship.”

Saturday’s event was the second of four the program is holding. Junior Achievement hopes to raise $25,000.
