Columbiana County Port Authority sells railroad

LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — After numerous attempts, the Columbiana County Port Authority has sold its railroad.

According to our print partners at the Morning Journal, the county sold the line to Mule Sidekicks LLC for three million dollars.

Sidekicks is a subsidiary of natural gas company MarkWest Energy Partners.

The line – formerly the Youngstown and Southern Railroad – runs for 36 miles from from Mahoning County to Beaver County.

The Port Authority owned the line for about 10 years.
