Arrest made in Monday shooting

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Local police have made an arrest in connection with a Monday shooting in dowtown Youngstown.

A police report states that the Youngstown Police Department arrested Algernon Franklin Monday afternoon.

One person was hit by gunfire on Wood Street about 1 p.m. Monday. Police arrived on the scene and found the victim, who identified himself as Aaron Jones, according to the police report.

Officers received a description of the suspect from a possible witness and began searching the area. They found Franklin at a bus station at 340 W. Federal Plaza. Officers found a weapon upon searching his person.

Franklin is being at the Mahoning County Jail.
