YSU hosts Crash Day

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — High school students from across the Valley invaded the Youngstown State University campus on Monday.

More than 300 juniors and seniors showed up for Crash Day at the university, but the event was overshadowed by the buzz that university president Dr. Randy Dunn was leaving to become president at Southern Illinois University.

Students got the opportunity to tour the campus, sit in on classes and check out different activities to get the chance to see if YSU is the best college option. The recruitment event started in 2012 and has been very successful in getting students to visit the campus.

“I’m probably going to be attending here in the fall. And I came to view the classes,” said Girard High School senior Kayla Seidler.

Her classmate, Juliana Cario, said she attended Monday’s event to be part of the classes and be among the students already on campus.

The next YSU Crash Day is scheduled for June 23.
