Snow and wind cause sporadic power outages

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The heavy snow and winds have caused sporadic power outages across the Mahoning and Shenango valleys.

Some First Energy customers are without power in Mahoning, Trumbull, Mercer and Columbiana counties. Several dozen homes have been affected in each county, including areas such as Austintown, Columbiana, and Vienna.

Power is expected to be restored to most areas by late Tuesday morning.

Several inches of snow fell across the area overnight in to Tuesday morning with wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour.

The snow is expected to taper off throughout the day on Tuesday with high temperatures near 40 degrees.
