Trumbull workers will relocate

Commissioners approve bank purchase

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Workers in several Trumbull county offices soon will have a new place to work.

Commissioners on Thursday approved the purchase of the former First Place Bank building on East Market Street for $750,000. Employees from the planning commission and the building and records department will move out of the Wean Building on North Park Avenue.

Flooding in the basement in the Wean building last summer damaged records, costing the county hundreds of thousands of dollars to fix them.

Trumbull County Commissioners Paul Heltzel said the new location is ideal because there is lots of space and plenty of parking. Heltzel said once the county moves offices out of the Wean Building, commissioners will apply for a grant to remove the asbestos inside and then have it torn down.
