Velasquez steps down at Mineral Ridge

Doug Velasquez has stepped down as head football coach at Mineral Ridge to pursue his teaching career.   He made the offannouncement to his team Thursday morning.

He led the Rams to a record of 5-5 in one season heading up the program.

“I’m proud of how we competed in every game last season.  The future is bright,” Velasquez said.

Although Ridge finished the 2013 season at the .500 mark, the Rams average margin of defeat was just 7.1 points per game.
