East stumbles against St. Ignatius

St. Ignatius utilized a second quarter which the Wildcats outscored East 15-3 to take a 32-15 halftime lead. From there, St. Ignatius cruised to a 63-37 victory.

The Wildcats won the rebound battle 35-26 while swiping 12 steals on the defensive end. Eric Black led all scorers with 19 points. Deven Stover finished with 9 points and 5 boards. Isiah Barbra tallied 5 points and had 5 steals.

For East, Terrell McClain scored a team-high 16 points. Dalane Brown and Rashawn Boykins totaled 9 and 8 points, respectively.

The Panthers are set to begin their tournament play next Saturday when they will be pitted against the winner of top-seeded Jackson and Cloverleaf in the Sectional Finals of the Canton District.

St. Ignatius will play against John Marshall on Wednesday in the Sectional Semifinal in the Grafton District.
