Columbiana Chamber of Commerce honors community leadership

COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) — It was a very special night for some special people in Columbiana County on Sunday.

The county’s Chamber of Commerce took time out at its annual dinner to honor people who have made the community better.

Jon Preston Straney received the Young Citizen of the Year Award. Longtime chamber member Paul Rance got the Lifetime of Service Award. Finally, Detective Wade Boley with the Columbiana Police Department was honored for outstanding community service.

“This ceremony is a great way for us to publicly recognize people who put money and time and effort into building our community. It’s just a great night of fellowship and rewarding people for a job well done,” said Deann Davis of the Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.

Several businesses were also recognized at the dinner. Graft Electric, which built a new building this year, a new coffee shop renovated an existing building and a local manufacturer improved its facilities and upgraded its manufacturing process were all honored.
