Woman pleads in 2012 homicide

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A woman originally charged with murder in a March 2012 shooting death pleaded guilty Monday to lesser charges.

Jasmin Fletcher, 23, pleaded guilty in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to felony charges of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice.

Munir Blake was shot when he accused Fletcher of stealing electricity from his Lora Avenue apartment on Youngstown’s North Side.

The man who police said pulled the trigger will go on trial Tuesday. Michael Paige, 22, was in court Monday for jury selection, but it was postponed because of Fletcher’s plea.

He faces aggravated murder charges. Relatives of the victim said Blake was a father of five who had just finished motorcycle school and was looking for work.
