Hagan adds to Tressel/YSU talk

State Representative Robert Hagan (D-Youngstown) added to talk about Jim Tressel as the next president of Youngstown State University with an entry on his Facebook page Tuesday morning.

Hagan said in the post, published just after 9 a.m. Tuesday, that he chatted with Tressel about the Presidency Monday night. According to the post, Tressel said, “There is a process that has to be followed,” and did not dismiss the possibility of interest in the position.

Current YSU President Randy Dunn was announced as the next president of Southern Illinois University Monday, Feb. 17. Dunn will stay on at the school through Aug. 16.

A number of local leaders, including U.S. Congressman Tim Ryan, have already stated their support for Tressel taking the role.
