Multiple accidents tie up I-680

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – It doesn’t take much snow to cause problems on the roadway. That was evident Tuesday as the morning commute got tied up with multiple accidents on Interstate 680 in Youngstown.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to at least four accidents on I-680 in both the southbound and northbound lanes near Meridian Road and Glenwood Avenue.

OSHP responded to 11 accidents on Mahoning County interstates, with 10 of them occurring between 7:45 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. The Mahoning County OSHP post said that all the incidents were weather-related and all had been resolved as of about 1 p.m.

The Ravenna post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, in Portage County, said they had handled about 10 accidents and received calls on several slideoffs.
