Student arrested in Newton Falls bomb threat

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio (WKBN) — Newton Falls Police arrested a student responsible for writing a bomb threat on a wall in one of the school’s bathrooms.

School officials canceled classes Wednesday at Newton Falls Jr./Sr. High School after a student discovered bomb threats in two of the bathrooms of the junior high school Wednesday morning.

Newton Falls police responded to investigate.  The Sheriff’s department, along with bomb-sniffing dogs, searched the school and discovered nothing.

The junior high school was evacuated, with some students being sent to Newton Falls Elementary School and others to the senior high school.

Parents were contacted to come and pick their students up. School resumed as scheduled on Thursday.
