YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – On a cold Friday night, more than two dozen people showed their best dance moves inside a local school to support a Youth Ministry program.
The first ever Line Up With Jesus Line Dance Party and Fundraiser was held Friday in the gymnasium at Horizon Science Academy in Youngstown.
Victoria Allen, Youth Director of the New Bethel Baptist Church Youth Council Ministry, says the young people who are a part of the group have been talking about wanting to host a dance party and fundraiser for some time.
Allen said about 30 people showed up to dance and congregate. The fundraiser will help support the youth ministry’s 2014 activities which includes sending group member to a conference.
Allen said about 25 youth are a part of the program at New Bethel Baptist Church, ranging in age from 13 to 21.
A local DJ, who’s involved in the line-dance community, got the beat just right for the event. Allen said the group plans for the event to become a yearly tradition.
