NILES, Ohio (WKBN) — Thousands came out to the Eastwood Expo Center last weekend for one of the largest sportsmen shows in town.
From Friday until Sunday, large crowds filled the Eastwood Expo Center for the Northeast Ohio Sportsman’s Fishing and Hunting Super Show and Sale.
“Anything you want for the outdoorsmen, it’s here,” said event planner Yvonne Rentz. “There’s all kinds of fishing tackle, hunting deals. You’ll have the best deals you can find in here.”
The show has been at the Expo Center for more than 15 years, Attracting vendors from all over the country. More than 300 came out this year.
“It’s just a well-rounded day for everybody. And it gets people interested in what’s coming up in the spring and summer,” said Claire Kopcsos of the Lowellville Rod and Gun Club.
Spring and summer seemed to be what everyone is looking forward to, as they said cabin fever has kicked in for most of them.
“Trying to get out of the house. Tired of the winter, trying to get ready to go fishing,” said Mark Miller of Ashtabula County.
Miller said this has been a long and cold winter. He comes to the show every year and this year he brought his son along with him.
“He got his first fishing pole today. Trying to get him to get into it,” said Miller.
“Everybody’s ready to go out in their boats and go fishing and doing what they like to do,” added Rentz.
Organizers said the warmer weather over the weekend brought in larger crowds. This year’s show had one of its turnouts.
