Fire breaks out at Warren steel plant


WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A belt system on a machine caught fire at a Warren steel plant Monday morning.

The fire broke out in the melt shop just after 3:30 a.m. at Warren Steel Holdings on Mahoning Avenue. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Warren Township, Champion and Bazetta responded. It took crews about 45 minutes to extinguish the fire.

A damage estimate was not yet available Monday afternoon.
