Mixed verdict in murder trial

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — It was a mixed verdict on Monday in a Youngstown murder trial.

A jury found Michael Paige, 22, not guilty of aggravated murder and they couldn’t reach a decision on two other counts, including murder and tampering with evidence.

Paige was charged with murdering Munir Blake in March of 2012 after an argument over electricity at an apartment on Lora Avenue on the North Side. Prosecutors said they will retry him on the other charges.

Last week, Jasmin Fletcher, 23, pleaded guilty in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to felony charges of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice in Blake’s murder.
