Crews work to contain North Side fire

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown fire crews worked to control a fire Thursday morning at a home on the city’s North Side.

The fire broke out about 5 a.m. Thursday in a garage on Griffith Street, and the flames quickly spread to the nearby house.

A woman was inside the house but was able to escape.

The house was heavily damaged, and a vehicle inside the garage was destroyed. Flames also damaged a neighboring house.

A cause for the fire has not been determined, but investigators are calling it suspicious.
