Police pursuit ends in one man’s arrest

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Charles Ramsey, 38, of Boardman, was booked in the Mahoning County after leading two police departments on a chase overnight.

Ramsey has been booked on charges of failure to comply, OVI, driving outside of marked lanes and driving under suspension.

The chase started at 1 a.m. on South Avenue and Walker Mill Road when police saw him swerving outside the lanes.

Police pursued Ramsey but he didn’t stop and reportedly entered Springfield Township. The Boardman Police Department reportedly stopped pursuing Ramsey and the Springfield Township Police Department took the chase over

The police pursuit reportedly ended when driver crashed into a ditch on Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road (state Route 170) near Springfield High School.

According to police, beer bottles and prescription medication bottles were found inside the truck Ramsey was driving.
